Chavez’s River Cat Rehab Assignment

Eric Chavez is one step closer to rejoining the A’s by their next home-stand. As expected, Chavez was given a rehab assignment that could potentially last all of next week. Chavez will join the Sacramento River Cats (A’s Triple-A team) as part of his week long rehab stint. If he is deemed healthy at the end of his assignment, he’ll rejoin the A’s on their next home-stand. Chavez has been dealing with two bulging disks in his neck, but after taking a break he’s become confident enough to say that he’ll be back this season.

Do the recent signings of Brett Tomko and Jason Jennings raise any red-flags in Oak-Town?
