Oakland Athletics vs. Chicago White Sox: Tuesday, April 5 – Live Stream, TV and Radio Info, Pitching Matchup and Lineups

The Oakland Athletics are set to face the Chicago White Sox in the second game of their four game set on Tuesday, behind starter Chris Bassitt. Bassitt was originally scheduled for Wednesday’s game, but Sonny Gray missed his Opening Day start after being temporarily hospitalized with food poisoning. That forced Rich Hill to pitch the opener and bumped Bassitt up to Tuesday, where he will face Chicago’s #2 starter, Jose Quintana.

Today’s Oakland Athletics Lineup vs. Chicago White Sox:

On Monday night, the Oakland Athletics fell to the Chicago White Sox in a 3-4 loss at the Coliseum. The A’s will try for their first victory of the season behind Bassitt, who is coming off of a season in which he went 1-8 despite posting a 3.56 ERA and striking out 64 batters in 86 innings.

Quintana, meanwhile, owned a 3.36 ERA in 2015, along with 177 strikeouts in 206.1 innings. He finished the year with a 9-10 record, in his fourth season as a White Sox starter.

The biggest challenge for the A’s on Tuesday will be improving upon their sloppy defensive play, something that has carried over from a Spring Training in which they led all of Major League Baseball in errors. If the Athletics hope to remain competitive, they’re going to have to play better in the field. The White Sox made an error as well, so both teams could stand to tighten things up a bit on Tuesday night.

A’s Fact of the Day: Jed Lowrie was the only Oakland Athletics player with multiple hits last night, and he also earned a walk – no one else reached base more than once.
