Oakland Athletics Roundup: A’s Will Not Seek Outfield Upgrade; Chicago Cubs Can Help
Oakland Athletics Roundup: Saturday, November 14
Last week, the A’s front office announced that they would not seek any upgrades in the outfield, telling MLB.com that they were counting instead on Coco Crisp to perform well.
That seems like a risky strategy, given his injury history and the lack of true depth behind him. (Craig Gentry and Sam Fuld will not make an impact in the lineup.) However, if Crisp can make it through Spring Training and begin the season healthy, it’s possible that Matt Olson is closer to the big leagues than it seems. In the meantime, the A’s will just have to settle for the same options they had this year – Mark Canha and Fuld.
