Sean Doolittle Face of MLB Update

It’s just past 11pm PST, and at this moment Sean Doolittle is leading Jose Altuve in the first round of the Face of MLB competition by a 56/44 margin. Last year Eric Sogard dispatched Altuve easily, but this year more fans from every base are tuned in, and the early returns are showing that. Only Sogard’s battle with David Wright in the Championship round held anything close to a real contest for A’s fans, with most victories being in the 65/35 range at the very least.

There’s still a few hours of voting left, and right now it’s too close for comfort due to the time difference between here and Houston, which gives Altuve an added advantage before voting closes at 5am PST, 7am CST.

How do you vote? It’s simple! Either go to MLB Network’s Facebook page and vote in the comments section, OR go to Twitter and type the two hashtags #SeanDoolittle and #FaceOfMLB. That’s one vote. See a tweet that you think is funny? Retweet it, and that’s another vote. Each account gets 25, so make sure to use all of them!

What does the winner? Well, nothing. The whole contest is a popularity contest that some would even call rigged after last year’s fiasco. Search “Eric Sogard” and “Korean Bots.” That should give you an idea.

Last year there was a rumor that votes get reset for each account at midnight. It was never confirmed, but hey, if you’re up reading this why not give it a shot! Sean Doolittle will be your best friend if he wins. Just tell him we said so.
