Brian Dozier (Minnesota) 18 Home Runs

After hitting 9 Home Runs in April, Dozier slowed his pace, hitting just 4 dingers in both May and June. Until Sunday, Dozier was continuing that slow pace, but he launched 2 over the fence in the first-half finale in Colorado.

Josh Donaldson (Oakland) 20 Home Runs

Donaldson started off blazing-hot this season, with 15 HR in the first 2 months. But, like Dozier, has slowed down a little. Donaldson’s lack of power has coincided with him hitting for a low average over the last month or so as well. He just isn’t squaring the ball up very well as of late. If he gets in a rhythm, he could be tough to beat.

Adam Jones (Baltimore) 16 Home Runs

Unlike the previous 2 sluggers, Jones has done a fair amount of damage recently. In June, Jones connected on 9 bombs, and has added 1 more in July. He has the potential to have a big Derby, but I think that the final 2 representatives from the AL will be the next two that I mention.

Jose Bautista (Toronto) 17 Home Runs

Joey Bats. Follow him on Twitter and you get a prize. Bautista is full of power. Injuries are what have slowed down his power numbers in recent seasons, not pitchers. In 2010, he hit 54 jacks. He followed that up with 43 in 2011. Again, he hasn’t had a healthy season since then, but Monday night could be his turn to showcase some of that raw power at the Home Run Derby.

Yoenis Cespedes (Oakland) 14 Home Runs

Last year’s Home Run Derby Champion is at it again. While his Home Run totals are the lowest among the AL competition, he has been helping the team more with his at-bats. He already has as many doubles as he did all of last season, his RBI numbers will most likely go up, and his average is also higher. But what about Home Runs, Jason?? We all saw what he could do in this contest last season. He wanted to defend the title. La Potencia will be ready to put on a show.
