April Full of Division Opponents for Oakland A’s

The 2014 season is going to waste no time exciting baseball fans, specifically those in Oakland. Looking at the 2014 season, you can quickly realize that the A’s face division opponents in 7 out of the 9 series that they play. Here’s the April Schedule.

March 31st – April 2nd: Cleveland Indians

April 3rd – April 6th: Seattle Mariners

April 7th, 9th & 10th: Minnesota Twins

April 11th – April 13th: Seattle Mariners

April 14th – April 16th: Los Angeles Angels

April 18th – April 20th: Houston Astros

April 21st – April 23rd: Texas Rangers

April 24th – April 27th: Houston Astros

April 28th – April 30th: Texas Rangers

So as you can see, only 2 opponents in April are not in the AL West. A strong start in April could make or break teams competing in the AL West. The Oakland A’s need to come out strong and really take advantage of the fact that Holland, Harrison, And Iwakuma are all more than likely going to start the season off on the DL and really get a good lead on the rest of the division. They need to get ahead and stay ahead. This schedule makes the beginning of the season that much more important. It’s a marathon not a sprint, but it sure doesn’t hurt to start the marathon a mile ahead.
