The time finally struck today for all A’s fans. Pitchers and catchers reported to Phoenix Municipal Stadium in Arizona along with a couple of position players looking to get a jump start on their 2014 seasons. Throughout the rest of the month of February and the month of March the Swingin’ A’s will provide you with all the material you’ll need to be as prepared as possible going into the 2014 regular season. Below you’ll find just some of the upcoming material that’ll be found on the site in the coming months leading up to opening night on March 31st against the Cleveland Indians.

The first thing that will be brought to you is all the news coming out of Phoenix. You can find news anywhere, but what makes this site great is that you get a variety of opinions that begin discussions amongst all A’s fans not end them. Any and all transactions will be brought to you along with opinions outside of the standard responses the front office will give for making them.

The second thing is the position battles. Though it may not seem like there will be many competitions heading into Spring Training the A’s have a multitude of infielders vying for only a couple of spots, four pitchers going for one spot in the rotation, bullpen competitions, and a competition for the fifth outfielder spot. While in the past a lot of these competitions meant the odd man/men out would head to Triple-A Sacramento this year there are multiple players without options left meaning if they do not make the roster the A’s risk losing them altogether.

Finally an interview with Kimberly Contreras, a writer for Athletics’ Scout and a familiar face at the A’s rookie ball facilities at Papago Park in Phoenix, along with an inside look at how Spring Training is going live from Phoenix. Not to mention other posts about certain players, the A’s philosophies, etc.

These next couple of months will be jam packed over at Swingin’ A’s with loads of information coming your way. The best way to keep up with all the posts and information is to follow our various writers and our Twitter/Facebook accounts. Get prepared for your back-to-back defending AL West champion Oakland Athletics to begin their title defense in 2014!
