Oakland A's Have Best Record Over Past Two Seasons

Everyone looks at the previous season for ranking teams up. Just for fun, I decided to look at the past two seasons and rank the teams based on their records. The results may actually surprise you. When you look at the previous two seasons and not just one, the rankings actually change a bit. You may have heard somewhere before that the Oakland A’s have the best record in the past two seasons. That’s what inspired me to dig for the numbers myself. The A’s top the list tied with the Braves for best record in baseball over the past two seasons. Here is the entire list, ranking the teams. If there was a tie, then it was broken by looking at only the 2013 record.

30. Houston Astros 106-218

29. Chicago Cubs 127-197

28. Miami Marlins 131-193

27. Minnesota Twins 132-192

26. Colorado Rockies 138-186

25. Seattle Mariners 146-178

24. Toronto Blue Jays 147-177

23. Chicago White Sox 148-176

22. New York Mets 148-176

21. San Diego Padres 152-172

20. Philadelphia Phillies 157-167

19. Milwaukee Brewers 157-167

18. Kansas City Royals 158-166

17. Cleveland Indians 160-164

16. Arizona Diamondbacks 162-162

15. Boston Red Sox 166-158

14. Los Angeles Angels 167-157

13. San Francisco Giants 170-154

12. Pittsburgh Pirates 173-151

11. Baltimore Orioles 178-146

10. Los Angeles Dodgers 178-146

9. New York Yankees 180-144

6. Washington Nationals 184-140

5. Texas Rangers 184-140

4. St. Louis Cardinals 185-139

3. Cincinnati Reds 187-137

1. Atlanta Braves 190-134

1. Oakland Athletics 190-134

The reason the Athletics and the Braves are tied is because they both had the exact same record in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons. But there you have it, that’s the list.
