Fans everywhere are waiting for Spring Training to finally start. The offseason sucks, having no baseball to watch after getting used to watching it nearly every day. The first game of Spring Training starts February 26th. A’s fans everywhere can rejoice, it’s about a month away. The better news? The A’s open up their Cactus League games against one of our favorite teams to play, the San Francisco Giants.

That’s right. On February 26th, The A’s play the Giants in Spring Training. While Spring Training games don’t hold much weight, it’s still the only baseball we have to watch for a month before the season starts. It doesn’t really give bragging rights if either team wins, seeing as it’s just Spring Training. Last year the Seattle Mariners had 1st place of the cactus league, so it shows that it doesn’t accurately reflect who the best team is. Regular players on the major league roster get only a few innings but it’s still fun to watch.

It’ll be a fun spectacle to watch, even if it doesn’t hold much weight. There’s a month full of games to watch while the A’s warm up and shake off the dust. The best way to kick it off is against our bay area rivals.
