The results of Grant Green‘s new swing have been positive. According to the team’s official site, Green, a top prospect, has adopted a new swing and is performing quite well in the Arizona Fall League.

Through 23 games, Green is batting .295/.352/.547 with 4 HR and 17 RBIs. Over his last 10 games, Green has hit .333/.404/.714 with 3 HR and 10 RBIs. Green is aiming to hit for more power after he experienced a drop off in home runs this year with Double-A Midland.

He hit .291 with 9 HR and 62 RBIs with Midland this year. Last year Green hit .318 with 20 HR and 87 RBIs with Stockton. I’m sure the power-starved A’s would love to see Green hit for more power.

A new swing, one equipped with an added leg kick, could help Green generate more power as he seeks to reach the big league level. As of now, MLB.com ranks Green as Oakland’s top prospect, with a chance to see some big league action in 2012. We’ll see how that swing works out for Green this spring.

The A’s recently received a land-purchase option that will give the team a chance to purchase five acres of land located near the Sharks’ HP Pavilion. It’s a small step forward, but it’s still a step in the right direction nonetheless.

Oakland is still waiting for approval to move to San Jose, though. MLB and Bud Selig have had nearly three years to study the A’s stadium situation, but have yet to make a public recommendation. On MLBTradeRumors.com, however, the A’s may, in fact, get approval to start building in San Jose once the sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers is completed.

Bud Selig, according to Bill Madden of the New York Daily News, has given A’s owner Lew Wolff “tactic assurance” that the A’s will be allowed to move to San Jose. All of this hasn’t been confirmed and should be regarded as a big rumor, but if it is true, A’s fans should be excited about the possibility of getting a stadium built in San Jose.

Also on MLBTradeRumors.com, the A’s are rumored to be interested in free agent Grady Sizemore. Sizemore, 29, is looking to resurrect his career after getting derailed by injuries. He appeared in just 71 games this year and hit just .224/.285/.422 with 10 HR and 32 RBIs.

According to the rumors, however, Sizemore’s asking price and health are keeping the A’s interest level low. Considering the A’s current stadium situation, it’s figured the team won’t spend much cash this winter on free agents.
